Roger Smets coming to Faith Community this Sunday

posted by Lee Seekins

Roger Smets is bringing his prophetic ministry this coming Sunday (July 30th) during our regular worship service (10am) and during a special evening event (6pm).

Roger has been ministering in churches for over 40 years. He has a unique prophetic ministry. Roger has committed over 500 verses to memory from which he draws during his personal ministry to people. His focus has been to encourage, refresh and challenge many with a “Word from the Lord.” Roger moves in his prophetic gifting by praying Scripture promises with many.

Financial Planning Ministry

posted Mar 25, 2017, 10:43 AM by Lee Seekins

Faith Community Church would like to invite other local congregations to explore an exciting opportunity to have individual living trust documents prepared by the Christian organization Financial Planning Ministry.  On Sunday, April 23rd at 6:00PM, we will gather at Faith Community Church to learn more about the organization, the opportunity, and how your participation can be had for zero out-of-pocket expenses.  While Faith is hosting the event, a partnership between YoungLife and Financial Planning Ministry is making the opportunity possible.  Please join us to learn about what YoungLife is doing in our community and how your participation with Financial Planning Ministry can have an impact on our local youth.  Please confirm an estimated number of participants we should expect to ensure we have enough materials on hand.  Hope to see you there!

Attention Parents & Guardians

posted Feb 27, 2017, 11:12 AM by Lee Seekins

Dear Parents and Guardians,

If you have a child that attends Kid's Church, or use the Nursery/Toddler Room for a younger child, this message is for you!

We've been seeing a decrease in the number of parents and/or guardians remembering to sign their kids into Kid's Church and Nursery/Toddler Room. Please make sure that you are accompanying your children downstairs to the right area (Kid's Church or Nursery) and signing them in with the volunteers. After Church is over, a parent or guardian needs to go downstairs and pick up each child after signing him or her out with a volunteer.

We realize that this can cause a bit of a time crunch and create somewhat of a traffic jam downstairs. However, we are committed to providing a safe experience for each child. Taking the time to get your kiddo to the right location is part of that commitment.

We also want to clarify the age groups for Kid's Church and Nursery/Toddler Room. Kid's Church is available to children ages 4-12. If you think your 3 year old is ready to try Kid's Church, please discuss this ahead of time with Jeremy or Kasey Miller. The Nursery/Toddler Room is available for infants over 4 months of age to toddlers up to age 3. Please accompany your toddler downstairs to Nursery.

We keep saying it, but we are TRULY BLESSED to have so many youngsters. Please help our volunteers to keep everyone safe by taking a few minutes on each end to drop off and pick up your children.

Thank you!

Pastor's Note

posted Jan 28, 2017, 8:53 AM by Lee Seekins   [ updated Jan 28, 2017, 8:53 AM ]

I have had the privilege of traveling to the land of Israel. I saw both the lush and fertile land in the north surrounding the Sea of Galilee and the barren area surrounding the dead Sea. Both seas receive fresh water from the north, but only the Sea of Galilee has water flowing out. the Dead Sea only receives and the only way water exists is from evaporation. The Sea of Galilee is teaming with life, the Dead Sea lives up to its name.

This is such a vivid illustration. And if you apply it to your individual life it can give you a recipe for health. Ask yourself, "Am I giving or am I just receiving?" Another way to think of it is to ask, "Is my heart turned inward, primarily thinking about myself, my needs, my desires?" Or, "Is my life focus outward, thinking and planning on ways to help and bless other people?"

We have something to celebrate. On February 19th the Financial Team for our church will present a report detailing the income and expenditures (inflow & outflow) over the previous year. We call this our "Annual Report".

Some specific areas of local giving is our support to Young Life Ministries, the local food bank, and the Care Net ministry. Also we have faithfully given support to Foursquare Missions International, The Bowls of Mercy (Kevin Emah), Living Waters, Czech Mates (Ken and Linda Stapleton), Wycliffe (The Sheerans) and Colin Ovenell.

I am so proud of our Financial team. Let me encourage you to keep praying for them in their responsibility of oversight of the church's finances. They are Dave Lyngholm, rich Black, Merle Kennedy, Wayne Rice, Ian Turner and Brett Black.

Let the Water flow!

Pastor Steve

We are pleased to announce that Jeremiah Seekins is stepping into an intern assignment for the Church. Over the years we have recognized God's call on Jeremiah's life to be a pastor. We are making this assignment official. We see Jeremiah and Lee as a well-yoked team. the specific ministry assignments will continue to expand as opportunity arises. Starting immediately they are assuming the leadership of the KID's ministry, including the coordination and oversight of the nursery, as well as youth work.
